About Us

Premium simulation resources . . . for quality medical educators

What is thesimbook.com?

Thesimbook.com is the product of a national/international collaborative effort by simulation educators, experts and institutions from around the world to accomplish one goal . . . to create the highest quality, most easily accessible simulation scenario resource for medical educators.

Vision

To become the worlds leading resource for

peer-reviewed simulation scenarios

Mission

The creation of premium simulation resources

for quality medical educators

A contribution of service to medical educators . . .

Thesimbook.com was founded by C. Eric McCoy, MD, MPH out of his commitment and contribution of service to students and medical educators around the world.  Dr. McCoy is faculty at the University of California Irvine, Department of Emergency Medicine, and serves as the Chair of the Education Subcommittee for the Emergency Medicine Section at the Society of Simulation in Healthcare, fellowship director for the national and international medical simulation fellowships for the department of emergency medicine, course instructor for clinical epidemiology & biostatistics for UC Irvine School of Medicine, and Director of EMS for UC Irvine Medical Center.

Dr. McCoy travels to national/international conferences annually to provide value to leaners and colleagues in the form of educational courses and workshops.  Thesimbook.com is the result of an international collaborative effort of passionate medical educators with a commitment to service.  If you have taken a simulation course or workshop at the International Meeting for Simulation in Healthcare, SAEM Annual Meeting, or ACEP Scientific Assembly, chances are you’ve crossed paths with a contributor to thesimbook.com.

If you can answer "yes" to any of the questions below, you're in the right place . . .

Are you a quality medical educator?

Could your program and learners benefit from a comprehensive peer-reviewed simulation scenario resource that is immediately available?

Would your program and learners benefit from your access to inter-institutional networking opportunities and activities?

Are you interested in collaborative simulation research?

Could you benefit from simulation scenarios that not only have educational content for the intended learners, but also for the instructor!?!

Do you value the highest quality educational experience for your learners?

Would you like to publish your simulation scenarios to get credit for the work you are already doing?

If you answered YES to any of the above questions, thesimbook.com is the resource for you!  Thesimbook.com was created with the desire of creating a family-like atmosphere where professional colleagues from around the world can get credit for the hard work they are already doing (e.g. publishing the amazing scenarios you are already writing), have access to inter-institutional networking opportunities/activities, maximize the quality of their educational resources, and optimize the quality of educational experience they are providing to their learners.

At thesimbook.com we are a family of professional colleagues with a commitment to service.  Our focus is on collaboration and cooperation with the colleagues in our field . . . not competition.  We are better, together.  So whether you are an internationally known simulation expert, a program director looking to upgrade your curriculum, or a medical educator who is simply passionate about providing the highest quality educational experience to your learners . . . we welcome you, with open arms.
